2.3 Create a login journey

In this exercise, you'll configure the journey in Adobe Journey Optimizer that needs to be triggered when someone logs in on the demo website.

In the previous exercise, you created a new Event. You named it like this yourLastNameLoginEvent and replaced yourLastName with your last name. You should be able to see the Event you created under Configurations in Manage Events section:

To start creating your journey, click Journeys in the left menu. Next, click Create Journey to create a new journey.

You'll then see an empty journey screen. You can name your journey in the right hand panel using the naming configuration yourLastName - Login Journey. Click OK at top right to save your changes.

You will now need to use your event as the start of this Journey. You can do this by going to the left side of your screen and searching for your event in the list of events. The naming convention of the event was yourLastNameLoginEvent.

Select your event, drag and drop it on the Journey canvas. Your Journey now looks like this:

Click Ok to save your changes.

Now let's add an Email action. Go to the left side of your screen, clear the search and open the Actions palette, select the Email action, then drag and drop it on the second node in your journey. You now see this.

Set the Category to Marketing and select an email surface that enables you to send email. In this case, the email surface to select is ma1-hol9-0923-mktg. Ensure that the checkboxes for Clicks on email and Email opens are both enabled.

The next step is to create your message.

To create your email message, click Edit content.

In the next screen you will be prompted with 4 different methods to provide the email's content:

Go back to the message dashboard by clicking the arrow next to the subject line text in the top-left corner.

You've now completed creating your registration email. Click the arrow in the top left corner to go back to your journey.

Journey's in AJO are multi-channel, so let's add a push notification as well. Under actions, drag a Push action and add it to the end of your journey:

Select the push node and set the Category to Marketing and the Push surface to DXDemoApp-hol9-0923. Click save.

Click the link to Edit Content.

You'll now see the push notification editor. Add a Title and a Body for your message. Click the Add Media button to add an image to your push notification.

Select the ANZ bootcamp folder and select the "bootcamp email header.jpg". Then click Select.
