This lab will walk through the steps to create an SMS Message in Adobe Journey Optimizer.

NOTE:  Some exercises may vary during the actual Hands on Lab versus what is listed in the Archbee Page, due to industry setup and / or Presenter preferences.

## Create a New Message

1. Within your Journey, click on the SMS action node 
2. Enter a Label and Description for the message.
3. Select **Marketing **for Category and **MarketingSMS** 
4. Click on Edit Content

## Define the SMS Message

1. Use the AI assistant to generate the text for the SMS. 
2. Add personalizaation (use First Name to address the customer).
3. Add a URL to click through. Example:[[[https://dsn.adobe.com/web/jmagana-O4GY/send-money](https://dsn.adobe.com/web/jmagana-O4GY/send-money)](https://dsn.adobe.com/web/gesmith-1311/cart)](https://dsn.adobe.com/web/gesmith-1311/luma-plus)
4. *S*imulate using test profiles added in the email designer exercise.
5. Exit the designer after composing the message.

## Using Content Templates

For an accelerated and improved design process, you can create standalone templates to easily reuse custom content across Journey Optimizer campaigns and journeys.

This functionality enables content-oriented users to work on templates outside campaigns or journeys. Marketing users can then reuse and adapt these standalone content templates inside their own journeys or campaigns.

1. Click on Content Template.
2. Select Apply Content Template.

3\. Select the pre-saved Email Template called: (UC2 - Abandon Transaction - SMS)

4\. This will give you a starting point to design your sms.
