This lab will walk through the steps to create an SMS Message in Adobe Journey Optimizer.

NOTE:  Some exercises may vary during the actual Hands on Lab versus what is listed in the HOL Page, due to industry setup and / or Presenter preferences.

## Create a New Message

1. Within the Basic Journey, click on SMS action node 
2. Enter a Label and Description for the message.
3. Select **Marketing ** for the Category
4. Select **SMSMarketing **for the SMS Configuration
5.

6. Click on the Edit Content button.

## Define the SMS Message

1. Type the SMS message: 
   "New Luma Products! Check out the new Luma Products today by visiting!    [https://luma.com/new-products](https://luma.com/new-products)"
2.

3. Exit the designer after composing the message.
