## Assets

Click to open the Asset explorer under **Content Management **in the left hand navigation. Here you can manage the assets in your Adobe Experience Manager instance. Click on **Assets **and select **MA1 Asset Essentials prod. **

:::hint{type="info"}
In this case we have 2 AEM asset instances provisioned, normally there is only 1 instance per organisation so this step is skipped.

## Fragments

Fragments are pre-defined pieces of content that can be referenced. There are two types of fragments - Visual fragments to store HTML content for emails and Expression fragments to store Personalisation syntax that can be used across channels.

Click on **Fragments **under **Content Management **to view the fragments. You can see some visual fragments created for Petbarn Footer and Header blocks.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/ZFpX7yKr-v37v3mZ0ZEqs_image.png)

Click into a fragment to view the content. Since modifying the fragment will change the content anywhere it is referenced it's important to understand the impact any change might have. Click the three dots to **Explore References**.

## Content Templates

Content templates are pre-defined pieces of content. Templates can be created for multiple channels and are used as starting points for messages in campaigns and journeys.

Click to **Create template**.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/zVFgWOXqQq67qrcyQBk0A_image.png)

Give your template a name - include something unique like your lastname so you can recognise it for the next exercise. Set **Channel **as Email and **Type **for HTML.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/8vKYcARs7Xd_r5lQmQJcO_image.png)

Here we can choose to start from scratch using the email builder, to import pre-built HTML or to start from an existing template. Select **Saved Templates **and choose the **Petbarn Base Template. **

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/KhHG-Jfx9E_30t3sPsW-z_image.png)

Once the preview has loaded, click **Use this template. **

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/GbbRE6GBevcTVcuFuwxDT_image.png)

A lot of the content is already configured in the template, note how fragments have been used for header and footer content and these can't be altered here unless the connection to the fragment is removed.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/hXYgxss-0llNeXB5MEbh5_image.png)
