## Profile Lookup

In Adobe's Real-time Customer Profile, all profile data is shown alongside event data, as well as existing audience memberships. The data shown can come from anywhere, from Adobe applications and external solutions. This is the most powerful view in Adobe Experience Platform, the true experience system of record.

Every identity that is ingested into Adobe Experience Platform must be linked to a namespace. With Adobe Experience Platform, all IDs are equally important, typically, the primary identifier depends on the context.

Adobe Experience Platform understands this complexity and manages it for you. Every application, whether an Adobe application or non-Adobe application, will speak with Adobe Experience Platform by referring to the ID they consider primary.

1. In the left rail, click on **Customer** -> **Profiles**
2. On the **Profiles **tab, click on **Browse**
3. For the field **Identity Namespace**, select either **Email **or **Demo System - CRMID**
4. For the field **Identity Value - **use the appropriate value from the [Customer Profiles](docId\:c47CYnugHgBvpG7l9i6Sm) page

The **Detail** tab shows you an overview of your customer. The attributes displayed on this dashboard are configurable.

The **Audience Membership **tab shows which audiences the profile is currently a member of. Your profile should be part of the **GPWC - Pet Owners** audience and **GPWC - Recent vet visit. **

## Visit the Website

An unknown visitor on the website is also a customer from AEP's perspective and as such, all of the behaviour as an unknown visitor is also sent to AEP. Thanks to that approach, when this visitor eventually becomes (identified as) a known customer, a brand can visualize what happened before that moment as well. This helps from an attribution and experience optimization perspective.

On the [Demo Website](docId\:Xyqvu33DE-QCWptsIxcMQ) homepage, and any other page, you can get access to the **REAL TIME CUSTOMER PROFILE VIEWER.**

1. Click the Adobe logo icon in the top left corner of your screen to open the **REAL TIME CUSTOMER PROFILE** viewer.

2. Have a look at the panel:
 1. Notice the Adobe Id within **IDENTITIES**. This is the **Experience Cloud ID** (aka ECID).

 2. Click on the **EVENTS** tab to see the experience events that were collected based on the customer’s behaviour. The list is currently empty (or has just the home page view event) but that will change soon.

Let's behave as a typical customer now.

1. Click on Yoga category
2. Click on any product

You’ll then see the product detail page for this product. An experience event of type **Product View** has now been sent to AEP using the Web SDK.

To inspect this event:

1. Open the **REAL TIME CUSTOMER PROFILE** panel.
2. Take a look at the **EXPERIENCE EVENTS**.

You will see the interactions you have had with the demo web site.

:::hint{type="info"}
Tap on the refresh button at the top of the panel if you don't see the events appear

While the behaviour is anonymous, we’re able to track every click and store it in Adobe Experience Platform and we can use that information to personalise the experience.

1. Return to the home page by clicking the Luma logo in the top left.

We've used **Adobe Target** to personalise the banner image to align with their product interest in real time.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/yDQgG2vFTdhRsI-eSIsRg_image.png)

1. Click to **Sign In**
2. Sign in using the **Email** address from your [Customer Profiles](docId\:c47CYnugHgBvpG7l9i6Sm) - NOTE Password is not validated, you can enter whatever you want here.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/Ge4wv8IKHttSi6as_lHNB_image.png)

Signing in sends a login event to Adobe Experience Platform with both the **Email Address **and the **ECID. **This is going to create a new relationship in the identity graph. The **Login - web **event is visible in the list of events in the profile viewer.

## Visit the Mobile App

The same applies for mobile apps. Mobile apps integrated with the Adobe SDK will have an ECID assigned on installation, this is used to track the user actions on the app even while unauthenticated.

By authenticating or completing a purchase in the app where an identity such as email is required, the ECID from the mobile app can be stitched to the known profile in Adobe Experience Platform.

This exercise is optional but if you installed and configured the mobile app, open it now.

Click on the person icon in the top left corner to login on the app with your [Customer Profiles](docId\:c47CYnugHgBvpG7l9i6Sm). You can use any password you like. Then click LOGIN.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/W7Ixnhvug224xw2mDxXUq-WbFMRt7pRWfgRMb0AFNK3-20240816-054014.png" size="36" width="1179" height="2556" position="flex-start" showCaption="false"}

Return to the home screen and you can view the profile by dragging your finger from left to right across the app:

## Visualise the Identity Graph

Return to the AEP User Interface and either search for your profile again or click ctrl/command R to do a hard refresh on the **Details **tab.

You should see that an ECID has been added to the list of **Linked Identities: **

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/m54ZXl2pU-OmAVaOmtnf3_image.png)

:::hint{type="warning"}
Stitching of new identities can take a couple of minutes, if you don't see your ECID appear immediate, wait for a minute and refresh the page again.
:::

Click on the **View Identity Graph **link to visualise the graph. You can use the timeline slider to see how it's grown over time.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/1Jp0iolWv35Z_mkI7oUiT/0QtG9NGfN0xi0q0UnJipO_image.png)

Returning to your profile, click on the **Events **tab and you'll see your browsing events are now available, including the events that occured before you signed in.

Congratulations this completes the exercise on Unified Profile.
