Create a journey
Create the Journey
Navigate to Journeys and click to Create Journey.

Give your journey a name that you will recognise later, eg. [Your name] - Abandoned Cart Retargeting. Click Ok.

Under Events, drag the AddToCart event to the canvas. Click Save.

Now, only because there are a lot of us building the same journey, let's filter to include only your profile record. We can do this using a condition. Drag a condition activity to the canvas, then click in the properties to edit the condition expression.

Search for email. Select the email field under ExperiencePlatform/ProfileFieldGroup/profile. Add a condition that the email equals the customer email address you've been using for the lab.

Now drag the Purchase event to canvas. In the Event properties, tick the Define the event timeout checkbox, set the wait time to 30 sec and tick the Set a timeout path. Click Ok.

Add Email Message
Under Actions, drag an Email activity onto the timeout branch. Select the Email Surface that is available.

Click on Edit Content. Add a subject line and click on Edit email body button.

Go to saved templates tab and select the HOL Luma Template.

Click Use this template, add some content.
Now let's personalise the email and add the customers first name to the headline. Place the cursor where you want the name to go, then click on the personalisation icon.

Under Profile Attributes, search for first, then select the first name field under Person > Full Name.

Click Save to insert the personalisation.

Let's use Adobe's AI Assistant now to change the banner image we're going to use in our email. Click on the banner image and then click on the AI Assitant icon in the far right navigation.

Add a text prompt for your new image. It can be whatever you want, but remember that Adobe's AI is commercially safe, it only trains on imagery already licensed through Adobe Stock or without copyright. Keep your terms generic like An empty shopping cart with clothes. Click Generate to see the variations.

Click Preview to show the variations and either select one or update the prompt to regenerate. Select the one you want to use and click Select to save the image and the click on Next

Save the new image in the Luma Brand folder of the asset repository.

Update any other elements of the email content as desired and click Save.

Return to your journey using the arrow on the top left. Click Ok on the email properties once you're back in the journey.

You've completed creating the journey.
