# Story so far

The customer started a personal loan application but left before completing it. You now build an audience to bring them back through retargeting.

# Create an audience

You want to create a rule to include all profiles that have shown interest in a personal loan. These customers are close to subscribe a loan, therefore this audience could then be used for different use cases and channels.

- In the left rail, click on **Prospects** and choose **Audiences**.

1. Click on **+ Create Audience**. This will open the Create Audience popup.
2. Select **Build Rule** as the create method. This will open the Rule Builder.

You will immediately notice the **Attributes** tab selected underneath **Fields**. As well as the **XDM Individual Profile** selector under **BROWSE ATTRIBUTES.**

## Add event

Build an audience for profiles who have submitted a Loan application form:

- Select the **Events** tab in the Fields section.
- In the text search field, type "**any".** You will see an Any event listed under **Event Types.**
- Drag the **Any** event type onto the canvas where it says **Start building.**

Your screen should look like:

## Audience estimation

At each step in defining your audience, you can get an estimate of the audience's population:

- Click on **Refresh Estimates**, on the right-hand panel

You will then see an estimation of your current audience size. This is very helpful for a business user, so that they can see the impact of certain attributes on the resulting audience size.

**IMPORTANT**: the sandbox you're using for the exercise has been reset before the bootcamp, so Refresh Estimate will likely return 0.

For more details on how estimate works, see the [documentation](https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-platform/segmentation/tutorials/create-a-segment.html?lang=en#estimate-and-preview-an-audience).

## Additional details

You need to add more details to match the requirements.

In the field selector on the left-hand side, retrieve the name of the product.

- Click on **Events** on the top selector.
- Search for **Name **field on the right-hand side.
- Drag and drop the field `Experience Event > Product list items > Name` in the box **Add event field**.
- Change the operand drop down to **Contains.**
- Enter the **"Personal Loan" **value in the text field. This will select only the events that have a **"Personal Loan"** product saved for later.

We also want to specify the time period in which the wishlist event must occur:

- In the **Events** panel, change the **Any time** drop down to `In last 24 hours`

Your final rule should look like:

## Publish audience

Publish the audience.

- Enter a **Name** for your audience using the following naming convention, e.g. `[{{LASTNAME}}] Product Interest - Personal Loans`
- (optional) Enter a **Description**.
- Select **Edge** from the **Evaluation method** dropdown list.
You can read more about evaluation methods [here](https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/experience-platform/segmentation/home#evaluate-segments).
- Click on **Publish**.

You will be taken to the **Audience summary** screen, outlining your audience definition.
