### Connections Overview

The first step in the CJA setup process is creating a Connection. This occurs after you have confirmed that the needed datasets have successfully been ingested into AEP.

Connections are the foundation of CJA and enables the product admin to seamlessly connect multiple online and offline data sources. This includes the ability to join event, profile, and lookup data. Additionally, if you are bringing data from Adobe Analytics, you can connect multiple Report Suites into a single Connection.

Note: a Connection requires a unique person ID present across datasets.
