**Federated Audience Composition provides encryption through data-at-rest encryption, data-in-transit encryption, and customer-managed keys.**

Data at rest refers to the customer data that is used within Federated Audience Composition. The data is encrypted by the cloud service provider, and is used in Federated Audience Composition in its encrypted form.

Data in transit refer to the customer data as it moves from one component to another in Federated Audience Composition. The data is kept encrypted throughout Federated Audience Composition components using TLS 1.3 over HTTPS.

**Identity Graph Linking Rules**

Identity Service and Real-Time Customer Profile, it is easy to assume that your data is ingested perfectly and that all merged profiles represent a single individual person through a person identifier, such as a CRMID. However, there are possible scenarios where certain data could try to merge multiple disparate profiles into a single profile (“graph collapse”). To prevent these unwanted merges, you can use configurations provided through Identity Graph Linking Rules and allow for accurate personalization for your users.
