## Email - Data Warning Email

In the next steps you will be building the email for your journey. You'll pick a fully completed template of the email so that you don't have to build anything at all, we'll just add our personalisation to the template.

### Building the Email

2. Click on the activity to open the detailed view.
 1. Set the **label** to `Data Warning Email`.
 2. Set the **category** to `Marketing`.

### Configuring the email

We had most of the content prebuilt into the email using the template. Now lets customise the email for our journey with some 1:1 personalised messaging.

1. **Double** click on the text **DATA USAGE** to open the personalisation editor.
2. Delete the text **DATA USAGE**.
3. From the left menu, Profile attributes, search for `data usage`
4. You'll see the attribute **Data Usage - Monthly**. Click the **+** icon to add this attribute into the expression editor.
5. After the replace, your screen will look like below. Click **Save **to save the expression.

The personalization editor is the centerpiece of the personalization in Journey Optimizer. It is available in every context where you need to define personalization like emails, push and offers.

In the personalization editor interface, you can select, arrange, customize and validate all the data to create a customized personalization for your content.

In this case, the **Profile Attribute** will be replaced dynamically with the data usage for each customer that receives the email.

### Adding Dynamic content

Now let's add some **Dynamic Content** to our Email. We want to personalise the main email banner for our customers, depending on how they use their data.

We will create dynamic content for the following personas:

- Customers that mostly use their data for social media.
- Customers that mostly use their data for streaming shows.
- Customers that have a family plan.

We want to create a variant for each of our personas:

1. Select the main banner image.
2. From the options that appear above, select **Enable conditional content. **This will open the conditional content panel on the left.

You'll see 2 content variations, the Default variant and Variant - 1

1. Click **+ Add variant** until you have 3 variants.
2. Click **Variant - 1**, and select the three dots **... **and **Rename** the variant to `Data Usage - Social`.
3. Click the Arrow icon next to the three dots **... ** to **Select condition**
4. In the Condition editor, click **+ Create new**
5. Search for `data package preference`, drag the attribute onto the canvas where it says "Start building conditions".
6. Set the condition rule to **Data Package Preference** `equals` `social`.

Your condition should look like:

4. Click **Select** to close the editor.

Reminder! Now is a good time to **Save **your email (top, right **Save** button).

Repeat the same steps for variants 2 and 3, with the following changes:

**Variant - 2: **

- Rename the variant to `Data Usage - Streaming`.
