3. Optimization Opportunities
In the previous exercises, you explored how AI systems interpret your website content and how your brand appears in AI-generated responses.
You observed that AI systems may not always access or reference your content, even when it exists on your website.
If AI agents cannot access or clearly understand your content, they will rely on other sources—even if your content exists.
In this exercise, you will explore how Adobe Brand Visibility translates these insights into actionable opportunities.
Adobe Brand Visibility analyzes AI responses and content accessibility signals, then surfaces optimization opportunities that help improve how AI systems interpret, retrieve, and cite your content.
You will explore two example opportunities:
- Recover Content Visibility — ensuring AI agents can access your content
- AI-Friendly Summaries — helping AI systems better understand and use your content
You will also learn how these optimizations can be deployed at the edge, without requiring significant changes to your existing website.
3.1 Objectives
By the end of this exercise, you will:
- Navigate to the Opportunities section in Adobe Brand Visibility
- Understand how opportunities are generated from AI insights
- Explore examples such as Recover Content Visibility and AI-Friendly Summaries
- Learn how these opportunities can be deployed to improve AI visibility
- Understand how optimization can be applied without major site changes
3.2 Opportunities
Adobe Brand Visibility surfaces opportunities based on how AI systems interact with your content and how your brand appears in AI-generated responses.
These opportunities help you take targeted action to improve visibility in generative search.
Step 1: Navigate to Opportunities
From the Adobe Brand Visibility dashboard, locate the Opportunities section.
This section highlights recommended optimizations based on your brand’s AI visibility insights.

Step 2: Explore available opportunities
Review the list of opportunities available for your brand.
Each opportunity represents a specific way to improve how AI systems interpret or retrieve your content.
Select an opportunity to view more details.
Step 3: Review Recover Content Visibility
If available, select the opportunity labeled:
Recover Content Visibility
This opportunity identifies situations where content visible to users may not be fully accessible to AI agents.

Within the opportunity, review:
- Differences between Agent View and Human View
- Content that may not be accessible to AI systems
- Recommended actions to improve accessibility
This helps ensure that AI systems can retrieve and use your content when generating responses.

Step 4: Review AI-Friendly Summaries
Next, explore the opportunity labeled:
AI-Friendly Summaries
This opportunity focuses on improving how AI systems understand and interpret your content.
AI systems often rely on clear, concise summaries when generating responses.

Within this opportunity, review:
- Suggested summaries or content improvements
- Recommendations for simplifying or clarifying content
- Opportunities to better align content with common prompts
This helps increase the likelihood that AI systems will use and cite your content in generated answers.

If the Recover Content Visibility opportunity is not available for your site, focus on AI-Friendly Summaries. This ensures that even when content is accessible, it is also clear and usable for AI systems.
Step 5: Understand how optimizations are deployed (Optimize at Edge)
While you won’t deploy optimizations during this lab, it’s important to understand how Adobe Brand Visibility makes it possible to apply these changes quickly and easily.
Adobe Brand Visibility includes a capability called Optimize at Edge, which allows you to deploy AI-focused optimizations at the CDN layer, without requiring changes to your website or CMS.
This means that instead of modifying your site’s code or waiting on development cycles, optimizations can be applied outside of your core website infrastructure.
How it works
Once set up, Optimize at Edge:
- Applies optimizations at the CDN (edge) layer
- Serves improved, AI-friendly content specifically to AI agents and LLM user agents
- Leaves your website, CMS, and user experience unchanged
This separation allows teams to improve AI visibility without disrupting existing workflows or impacting human visitors.

Why this matters
Traditionally, making content changes required:
- Engineering support
- CMS updates
- Deployment cycles
With Optimize at Edge:
- Optimizations can be deployed in minutes, not weeks
- No changes are required to your CMS or site code
- Changes are reversible with a single click
This makes it possible for marketing and SEO teams to move quickly from insight to action.
What is required to get started
To enable Optimize at Edge, organizations typically complete a one-time setup that includes:
- Configuring CDN routing rules
- Enabling CDN log forwarding
- Allowing AI agent traffic to be routed through the edge optimization layer
This setup is usually done in collaboration with your IT or CDN team.
Once completed, teams can begin deploying optimizations directly from Adobe Brand Visibility.
Optimize at Edge only applies changes to AI agents, not human users or traditional search engine bots. Your website experience remains unchanged, while AI systems receive an optimized version of your content.
This approach does not constitute cloaking, as optimizations are not targeted at search engine crawlers like Googlebot. Instead, they are specifically designed for AI agents, ensuring compliance with search engine guidelines while improving visibility in AI-driven experiences.
3.3 Checkpoint / Reflection
Checkpoint Questions
- Did you identify at least one opportunity for your brand?
- What type of issue did the opportunity address (content accessibility or content clarity)?
- What actions were recommended to improve your content?
