Data Collection
The Adobe Experience Platform data collection APIs provide a universal way to ingest, standardize, and persist customer data from across your organization.
Its main purpose is to collect customer experience data—such as clicks, page views, and app interactions—and send it to Adobe’s Edge Network, where the data can be quickly enriched, transformed, and shared with different Adobe or non‑Adobe tools. This makes it easier for companies to understand their customers, improve their digital experiences, and make smarter decisions.
In addition to data coming directly from a website or app, it also supports server‑side data collection using the Edge Network API. This is especially useful for collecting data that doesn’t come from a website or app—such as backend events, secure transactions, or system‑generated data—and ensures everything flows into the same central system for consistent processing and distribution.
The Edge Network processes data closer to end users, enabling faster ingestion and faster delivery to personalisation and decisioning services. It is built for real‑time behavioural data, which is crucial for immediate actions like personalisation, journey decisions and event forwarding.
Data Collection provides easy‑to‑use tools (like tags and SDKs) that help teams deploy adobe solutions without needing complex code, making it a streamlined and efficient way to manage event based data across your touchpoints.
