Real time Journey

In this exercise we'll build a journey that is triggered when someone fill up a Test drive Form. We will send them a confirmation email, then a reminder just before the test day.

First, we need to switch to Adobe Jounrey Optimizer. This is where we manage all our outbound communication. Click on the 9 dots icon on the top right, then select Journey Optimizer.

Click on Journey Management -> Journeys in the left hand navigation. Then click to Create Journey.

Give your journey a name. Something unique like [your last name] - test drive journey.

We want to start the journey as soon as someone fill up a form. For that, drag and drop the RequestTestDrive Event onto the canvas.

We then want to send them a first email with detail about the test drive. From the action menu on the left pannel, drag and drop the Email activity after your requestTestDrive event.

We will configure email later. For the moment let's design the flow.

After the first email, we want to send an SMS as a reminder the day before the test.

For that, let's drag and drop the wait activity after the email. You will find this activity under the Orchestration menu.

In real life, we will have to set up custom waiting time. For this demo, we are not capturing date for the test drive. So let's keep a default waiting time of 1 day.

Finally, add an SMS after your waiting time. We now have our full muti-step multi-channel journey.

In this exercise you'll learn how Adobe's Email Designer and Generative AI features can be used to speed your content creation.

Return to the email node by clicking on it. Change the email configuration to email-marketing, then click on Edit Content

The Email configuration is used to set up default email branding (sender address, etc.) and also define if we need to check optin (for marketing message) or not (for transactional messages)

Enter a subject line of your choice. Ex : Your booking is confirmed. Then click on edit Email body.

Remark : You can also personalise the content by clicking on the profile button (right to subject line) to insert first name for example, or you can use Gen AI (magic wand button) to generate a text for you. Same button will be used later in the email body

In the next screen, you can chose the method to create your email. Here we will use a template. Click on saved template, then select Tata Email Template

Modify the email body as you want. You can add new component, images, text, personalize it, use Gen AI, etc.

Try a few options yourself.

Once done, click on the save button, then on the left arrow on the top left corner twice to come back to your journey

Last step is to configure SMS. Click on the SMS activity in your canvas, on the right pannel change category to transactional and configuration to SMS_transactional. Then edit content and enter a text to remind customer the test drive is tomorrow.

Click to Save the email and return to your journey.

You can test it before publishing it.

first, click on test mode in the journey

Then, click on Trigger an Event in the left pannel

Configure the event with your own email Address and ECID (you can retrieve it from the Xray pannel or the profile view)

Select web.formFilledOut for event type, and Request a Test Drive for form name. Click on Send. The journey will be triggered for your profile, and you should receive an Email after a few seconds.

If your email looks Ok, you can now publish the journey.

Stop the Test Mode. By clicking on the close button

NB : As we have multiple people creating the same journey, it can be a good idea to change the subject line or the content of your email to be sure the email you will receive comes from your journey. Replace Subject line by Test drive confirmed - Your name.

Finally, publish your journey. From now on, everybody who wil lcome to the web site and book a test drive will start your journey.

Last step, test it by going back to the web site, click on Request a test drive, then provide the email address, first name and last name. Let the mobile number empty to ensure nobody will call you back. Even if the form is not fully filled, it will be sent to AEP and trigger the journey.
